RULES & ETIQUETTE ROADSHOW

……..USEFUL & FUN plus £200 FOR HAITI CHILDREN

The three Rules & Etiquette seminars, given for the Partnership by Sue Rawles, were a great success.

Each venue, Minchinhampton Old Course, Thornbury Golf Centre and Brickhampton Court GC, attracted approximately 40 ladies who all found Sue’s delivery both informative and exceedingly enjoyable.

Usually those attending would be asked to donate a small amount for the County’s Juniors.  But this time, with news of the earthquake in Haiti foremost in our minds, we suggested that such donations should go to help Haitian children. Thank you everyone: £200 has been sent to www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk , the world’s largest orphan charity.

Many thanks to our three venues for their generosity in hosting the Roadshows …. and, of course, to Sue!

AUTUMN BEGINNER LADIES’ AWAY DAY

Forty-two ladies played in last week’s Beginners’ Away Day (October 16th), the fourth such day organised by the Partnership….. and thoroughly enjoyed by the ladies.

The venue was unchanged – play at the beautiful par 3 Ullenwood Manor Golf Course, at the National Star College, with lunch at next door Cotswold Hills Golf Club.

The format was unchanged – morning and afternoon  9-hole Texas Scrambles with an experienced golfer walking with each team of three to help with just how to play a scramble … and maybe add the odd bit of information on rules and etiquette!

It is a recipe which has already proved successful …. so, why change things?! Even the weather was the same – after a murky start, the sun shone the moment the players struck those first drives and Ullenwood joined in the party atmosphere!

Many thanks to all who helped to make this another very happy day!
