MALCOLM LEWIS IS PARTNERSHIP’S NEW CHAIRMAN
Malcolm Lewis, from Henbury Golf Club, has been appointed chairman of the Gloucestershire County Golf Partnership.
In making this announcement, acting chairman Mark Powell said:
”Malcolm has a fantastic background in golf, including being a past England captain, Walker Cup player, winner of the British Open Silver Medal (for the leading amateur), British Youth’s champion, as well as a 1st team county player for over 27 years.
Malcolm currently works in the corporate sector delivering board and senior management team coaching and development.
I am confident that Malcolm will bring a new dimension to the role of chairman and will ably support Debbie Casling, County Development Officer and the current partnership committee.”
Powell, who has been acting chairman since the death last year of the Partnership’s first chairman, Don Harmer, will act as Deputy Chairman and represent the men’s union on the partnership Committee.
Lewis thought long and hard before accepting the appointment and is now looking forward to this new challenge:
" I am thrilled to be back engaged with golf and especially in a role where I can help to make a difference in Gloucestershire. These days business life dominates my passions and is all linked to helping individuals and organisations to understand their purpose in life and aligning the action. Hopefully by connecting up my past golfing passions with my vocational work I can help to continue to guide the fantastic work of the Gloucestershire Golf Partnership to date. It has been really exciting to observe the sheer hard work and enthusiasm of all involved led by Mark Powell and the County Development Officer, Debbie Casling."
